CUSO Composer Institute - Reading/Recording
Hunter Chang’s score, Memories of Tragedy and Hope recently won the Champaign-Urbana Symphony Orchestra Composition Competition. He attended the full institute and the reading and recording session, both of which were open to the public. A big thank you to Dr. Stacy Garrop for hosting the CUSO Composer Institute, a new music educational conference, and Dr. Alltop, conductor of the CUSO, for bringing Chang’s score to life for an absolutely phenomenal recording of the piece.
From the Shadows
The Bienen School of Music’s Contemporary Music Ensemble (CME) is premiering Chang’s new work, From the Shadows, a piece for Sinfonietta instrumentation and explores a cinematic approach to pseudo spectralism. A big thanks to Victor Huls and Alan Pierson for putting together an incredible premier!
